Update:

The 156 player field will be cut to the top 70 and ties on Friday and all eyes are on Rory McIlroy and a few other big names who are in trouble after a disappointing start on Thursday. Some players blamed it on the mud balls, while others just couldn’t figure out the greens and struggled with the distance at Quail Hollow.

Friday’s leaderboard has a very international look to it with Jhonny Vegas from Venezuela leading, Matthieu Pavon from France is T2 tied with Matt Fitzpatrick from England at 6-under par and Si Woo Kim. A few American golfers are in the mix with Max Homa and Scottie Scheffler T5 at 5-under par.

Xander Schaufelle and Rory McIlory finished on the cut line at 1-over par(+1).

What is the cut line at the 2025 PGA Championship?

The top 70 players and ties will be able to continue competing at Quail Hollow this weekend. At 7 p.m. ET, the current projected cut line is +1.

Who’s not going to make the cut?

Some of the biggest names who will probably be going home early are LIV golfers Dustin Johnson (+12), Phil Mickelson (+5), Cameron Smith (+7) and Martin Kaymer (+10). It looks like there will be no Cinderella story for Michael Block this year as he is currently in last place at +15. Justin Rose is another surprise finishing at +9.
