Tyson Fury: Boxing pro since 2008
The ‘Gypsy King’ has had a long and colorful boxing career, to match his equally colorful personality. For more than 20 years Tyson Fury has climbed the ranks of boxing, culminating in defeating Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight last year.
As for when it all started, Fury began his professional career in 2008, when he was just 20 years old. He then pounded his way through opponent after opponent, reaping the British, Commonwealth, and European titles in quick succession. Indeed, it wasn’t long before Fury became a boxing star when he managed a shocking win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 and was declared the Ring, IBF, WBA, and WBO heavyweight champion.
So, what is Tyson Fury’s boxing record?
At 35 years old, Fury still maintains an undefeated record of 34-0-1, with 24 of those wins coming by way of knockout. His only draw came out of his first bout against American Deontay Wilder in 2018. In his last fight, Fury took on Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout that was staged on December 3rd, 2022. On the night, Fury defeated his fellow countryman via TKO.
Interestingly, Fury made a call immediately after the fight as he stood in the ring to fellow undefeated heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who was seated ringside to face him in an undisputed heavyweight bout. As we learned on the 29th September, 2023, Fury is now set to face Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fight has been tentatively set for 23rd December, 2023, assuming that Fury suffers no injuries in the Ngannou fight that’s about to be staged.
