What’s the ATP Ranking in the wake of the Cincinnati Masters?
The ATP list currently shows that Carlos is leading ahead of Novak, but the following ranking will depend on the Cincinnati tournament results.
On Monday, the ATP published its newest ranking list, with the Spanish 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz retaining his top position. The tennis player from Murcia has 9,395 points after winning 170 points at the Rogers Cup, despite being eliminated in the quarterfinals. Taking the second spot in the rankings is the illustrious tennis player Novak Djokovic, renowned for clinching a whopping 23 Grand Slam titles. His impressive performance has earned him a staggering 8,795 points, cementing his position as one of the greatest players ever.
The ongoing rivalry between the Serbian and Spanish tennis players will persist as they compete for the top spot on the leaderboard at the upcoming Masters tournament in Cincinnati. Cincinnati’s tennis courts will witness this intense season-long battle again.
According to the current rankings, Carlos is in a favorable position to maintain his top ranking in the next Masters tournament. All he needs to do is reach the finals. However, if Djokovic wins the tournament, Carlos will not be affected if Alcaraz is eliminated before the final. If Alcaraz makes it to the final, Djokovic could win the tournament and reclaim the top spot in the rankings. Therefore, the outcome of Alcaraz’s performance in the tournament will be a crucial factor in determining the final rankings. Djokovic can reach number 1 if he reaches the finals, but Alcaraz would have to lose much earlier.
Danil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas remained in third and fourth positions this week.
Dane Holger Rune has made his top-five debut despite losing 55 points. This is a commendable achievement for the young player. Janik Sinner, the Italian who won the Toronto tournament the previous week, is also performing well and ranks sixth.

Other notable jumps include Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (up 14 places to 23rd), Mackenzie McDonald (up 16 spots to 43rd), Aleksandar Vukić (up 14 spots to 48th), Marcos Giron (up 16 spots to 54th), and Taro Daniel (up 20 spots to 95th).
