When does the 2022-23 NHL season start? Dates and times of the first regular season games

This year’s NHL season kicks off overseas on Oct. 7, and concludes April 13 with 15 games slated for the final day. Take a look at the schedule below

After a long offseason consisting of NHL draft drama, an astonishing signing and a blockbuster trade, the 2022-23 NHL regular season is finally here.

The NHL is taking its talents overseas and beginning the season in Prague, Czech Republic this weekend. The Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks will play two games as part of the NHL Global Series, on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 at the O2 Arena. This marks the first time the NHL has played games outside North America since 2019.

Following that, the action starts in North America on Oct. 11 with a doubleheader on deck, including a matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden and the Vegas Golden Knights at Los Angeles Kings.
