Tennis fans are waiting for the US Open countdown to come to a close, as the best players will gather in New York for two weeks in the last big tournament of the year.

Carlos Alcaraz will try to defend his crown in the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center facilities, after winning the trophy by defeating Casper Ruud in the 2022 final.

Novak Djokovic, though, is ready to face Alcaraz, as he proved last Sunday by defeating the Spaniard in an epic final at the Cincinnati Open.

Meanwhile, in the women’s category, a big battle is expected among top-seeded players Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, and Jessica Pegula.

When does the US Open start?

The last major of the season is getting closer. The 2023 US Open is set to start next week on Monday, August 28th.

During two weeks, until September 10th, fans will be able to attend the US Open tennis hard courts and watch their favorite players fight to go as far as possible in the event.

There will be 16 qualifiers from the men’s singles draw and 16 qualifiers from the women’s singles draw. The qualifying rounds begin on Tuesday, 22 August. Players have to win three games to get to the main draw.

The first men’s and women’s matches will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. ET.

When is the 2023 US Open Draw?

The 2023 US Open draw will take place on Thursday, August 24th, at 12 p.m. ET. The US Open will display the completed brackets after the draw has finished.

Each single draw will have 128 players. The top 104 players receive will be awarded a spot in the tournament based on their world rankings. The rest of the spots are given to qualifiers and wild cards.

The seedings will be determined by the rankings a week before the event.
