Excitement levels were skyhigh on Saturday night at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois for the WWE Survivor Series event.

Randy Orton’s return to action after a long term absence from injury was one of the big draws in Chicago as the 43-year-old returned to the ring to be part of the team along with Cody Rhodes, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn and face The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre, whom they managed to beat.

CM Punk returns

Despite leaving WWE in 2014 to pursue a career in mixed martial arts and signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2014, there was always the hope that the 45-year-old would return to the wrestling world and so it proved on Saturday as his theme music was greeted with delirium by the fans at the Survivor Series event.

Despite not fighting at the Allstate Arena on Saturday, CM Punk’s appearance alone was enough to send fans into a frenzy.

After the event, WWE star Cody Rhodes added to speculation that CM Punk was destined for a WWE return, stating: “If he (CM Punk) can help with where we’re going and what we’re doing, absolutely welcome aboard.

“I have a feeling the CM Punk we’re getting is hungry, and that’s the best.”
