When was the last time Scottie Scheffler missed a cut? World No. 1’s remarkable streak ends at Genesis Scottish Open
The four-time major champion’s run of consecutive made cuts is over after a disappointing week in Scotland, but when did it all begin?
Scottie Scheffler has missed the cut for the first time in almost four years at the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.
After carding an opening 2-under 68 on Thursday, the world No. 1 struggled in his second round, posting a 2-over 72 to finish at even par.
Although the cut line, project at 2-under, hasn’t been completely settled, Scheffler will finish outside the top 65 and ties needed to qualify for the weekend, bringing his remarkable streak of 78 consecutive cuts made to an end.

Scheffler misses first cut since 2022
We have to go all the way back to August 2022 to find the last time Scheffler missed a cut. He failed to qualify for the weekend at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
It happened only three other times during the 2021-22 season: at the PGA Championship, the Genesis Scottish Open, and the Shriners Children’s Open in October 2021.
A rare setback for the world No. 1
Since recording his first PGA Tour victory at the WM Phoenix Open in February 2022, Scheffler has won 20 tournaments, including four majors, with two of those coming in 2025.
After winning seven times in 2024 and six times in 2025, the 29-year-old has just one victory so far this year, at The American Express in January. He has still recorded nine top-10 finishes in 14 starts, although another one will now have to wait after his early exit in Scotland.
