Where to watch the Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua fight on Dec. 19

After Jake Paul’s planned exhibition bout with Gervonta Davis collapsed due to Davis’s history of violence, the YouTuber-turned-professional boxer has lined up a new opponent for December.

Paul will step into the ring against former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at Miami’s Kaseya Center.

The fight is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 19, at 8 p.m. ET, and will stream live on Netflix.

Joshua returns after more than a year

Joshua, 36, hasn’t fought since Sep. 21, 2024, when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois. Despite the setback, promoter Eddie Hearn insists Joshua remains one of the biggest names in British boxing.

His record stands at 28 wins and 4 losses—two against Oleksandr Usyk, one against Andy Ruiz (whom he later avenged), and the most recent against Dubois, which cost him his belts.

For both fighters, the matchup looks like a win-win. Paul gets the chance to prove he can beat elite-level boxers, while Joshua returns to the spotlight after more than a year away.

I took some time out, and I’m coming back with a mega show,” Joshua said after the fight was confirmed. “It’s a big opportunity for me. Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected. Mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”

Paul seeks credibility

Paul, meanwhile, knows this fight could silence critics. “When I beat Anthony Joshua, all the doubts will disappear,” he declared. “No one will be able to deny me a shot at a world title. For everyone who hates me—this is exactly what you wanted.”

Paul is coming off a unanimous decision victory in June over former world champion Julio César Chávez Jr. in a 10-round bout at Anaheim’s Honda Center.

The purse will be split down the middle, meaning both Paul and Joshua will pocket $90 million each.
