TENNIS
Which are the most famous tennis power couples at the moment?
Another recent tennis romance occurred when Jannik Sinner, the current ATP list no. 1, started dating the 25-year-old Anna Kalinskaya, the WTA’s 24th.
In a time when tennis romances seem to be happening more often, another one has recently occurred. Janik Siner, the top-ranked tennis player in the world, has started dating Ana Kaljinskaja, a 25-year-old Russian female tennis player. Despite being three years older than him, she is currently ranked 23 places lower. While the age difference cannot be changed, Ana believes her ranking can improve.
Anna and Jannik
“I’m trying to be as good as him,” the tennis player, who was born in Moscow but has lived in Florida for almost ten years, told the Russian media.
The extent to which this still short romance inspires Kalinskaya can best be seen from the following fact: She is playing the third final of her career today in Berlin, after Tampico and Dubai. At the same time, Siner is also fighting for the title in Halle.
“I usually watch his matches, but this time, we commented, “What can you do.” We play simultaneously. We will see what the situation will be and whether we will be able to see at least part of the final. I am very happy for him.”
The information about their dating first appeared in “Gazeta Delo Sport” before Roland Garros. Siner confessed a few days later. “Yes, we’re together, but I don’t want to talk about it because it’s a private matter,” said the Italian in Paris.
Other tennis couples
One figure evidences how common tennis romances have become—there were as many as seven couples at Roland Garros.
The most famous are certainly Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, who even have a joint profile on Instagram. Siner and Kalinskaya are much more shy and do not have any photos together on any social network.
Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina already have a daughter. Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter have already won the titles twice on the same day; the last time was last week in Den Bosch and Nottingham, respectively. Alexander Shevchenko and Anastasia Potapova recently got married and are just making their way to the top of the world.
The Czechs Tomas Machac and Kateřina Siniaková are also a couple. They have been dating for three years, starting when he was a teenager. She is older (five years) and more successful (she was number 1 in doubles) than her partner.
Ugo Humbert, the first racket of France, chose Tessah Andrianjafitrimo, a countryman and a peer (25), as his girlfriend. Her last name will never be part of the title of a text, but she will not have that opportunity soon either because she is only 538th in the world. They have been dating since their teenage days.
And it doesn’t end there. The other couples are not part of the elite, so they didn’t play in Paris. Denis Shapovalov, once a tremendous Canadian hope, is dating the Swedish Mirjam Bjorklund, but both are in decline. Daria Gavrilova married Luka Saville long ago and changed her last name, but he is far from the elite and does not play in big tournaments.
Madison Keys is still in a relationship with Bjorn Fratangelo. Still, he has moved from the colleague category to the coach category and is now the first associate of the former US Open finalist.
The most legendary tennis couple of all times
Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have a remarkable love story that is truly inspiring. After being acquainted for over two decades, the couple found their perfect match in tennis and love. The parents of two children, Graf and Agassi, have been married for around 22 years. After so many years of joyful bliss, the American tennis legend shares a valuable tip for a happy marriage.
Having been romantically involved with several women, Agassi used to believe that Graf would always be out of his league. He once expressed that she was the ‘hardest to win,’ and Graf’s acceptance of his proposal was one of the highest points of his life.
