The British Open, or as it’s affectionately known, The Open Championship - the granddaddy of all golf tournaments. It’s been around longer than your great-great-grandpa’s favorite putter. A grand spectacle of golfing prowess, known far and wide as one of the illustrious quartet of major tournaments on the PGA Tour.

The tournament likes to keep things interesting by doing a little dance around nine charming courses in Great Britain. The inaugural British Open took place in 1860 at the prestigious Prestwick Golf Club in South Ayrshire, Scotland. This year, the Royal Troon Golf Club, also in Scotland, is hosting the event for the 10th time.

The British Open, a tournament as elusive as a unicorn riding a unicycle. Yet, it has witnessed the triumphs of countless players, from sprightly young prodigies to seasoned veterans who have more holes-in-one than a Swiss cheese factory.

Who is the youngest player ever to win The British Open?

Tom Morris snatched the title of the youngest British Open winner like a true golf prodigy.

Back in 1868, young Morris decided to show the world that age is just a number by winning the British Open at the tender age of 17. Talk about a hole-in-one for the history books!

Now that’s what I call breaking records in style! Morris hit the golf course like a boss in 1868, paving the way for an impressive four-peat in the British Open. Talk about a winning streak that would make even the most seasoned golfer green with envy!
