Update:

Jannik Sinner takes on Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles final, looking to win his fourth Grand Slam title and his first at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. However, the Italian isn’t quite at 100% for the final, as evidenced by his attire for the match.

The world No. 1 took to the court wearing one long sleeve and one short sleeve, despite the high temperatures in London (27ºC/80.6ºF). But, of course, the weather had nothing to do with Sinner’s choice of clothing for the final.

The reason for Jannik Sinner’s protective arm sleeve against Alcaraz

As was the case in his quarterfinal victory against Ben Shelton and his semifinal triumph over Novak Djokovic, Sinner opted to wear a protective arm sleeve after injuring his right elbow following a slip in his round of 16 clash against Grigor Dimitrov.

The top seed looked to be on his way out of the tournament at the hands of the Bulgarian, who won the opening two sets but was then forced to retire due to a right pectoral muscle injury, which later required surgery.

Sinner beats Shelton and Djokovic despite elbow issues

In the immediate aftermath of his fortunate victory, Sinner cast some doubt over whether he would be able to face Shelton, but has been able to battle past the American and Djokovic to get to Sunday’s final against Alcaraz, despite ongoing elbow issues.
