The oldest tennis tournament is about to get started and here’s all the information you need to know about the schedules and the format.
It’s that time of the year when tennis fans get stuck to their TVs, computers, tablets, and other devices to enjoy the best tennis on the planet.
The clay season is over and now it’s time for some more grass action with the start of Wimbledon, which will be held at the All England Club facilities in London from July 3 to 16.
The current French Open winners, Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek, will be looking to repeat their success in Paris. The Serb defeated Casper Ruud in the final in three sets, while Swiatek, who was against the ropes against Karolina Muchova, managed to win the third to claim her third Roland Garros trophy.
Wimbledon first-round games
Both the men’s and the women’s single competitions are made up of 128 players, which means there will be 64 games in every bracket. Some of the first-round games are expected to be highly entertaining given the player’s quality and anything can happen.
In the men’s category, there are a few eye-catching clashes, like the ones between Lorenzo Sonego and Matteo Berretini, Alejandro Davidovich and Arthur Fils, Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas, and the David Goffin vs Nick Kyrgios clash.
Meanwhile, in the women’s competition, there are also some intriguing games, like the ones between Venus Williams and Elina Svitolina, Sofia Kenin vs Coco Gauff, Maria Sakkari vs Marta Kostyuk, and Shelby Rogers and Elena Rybakina.
