Wimbledon blow for Alcaraz
The Spanish star has confirmed that despite his recovery being “on the right track”, his wrist problem will see him miss the celebrated grass tournament.

Despite his ongoing recovery process from a wrist injury which forced Carlos Alcaraz to withdraw from the Barcelona Open in April, the Spaniard has also confirmed that he will miss the 2026 edition of Wimbledon.
In a brief statement posted on social media, Alcaraz noted that while his recovery is going well, he is unfortunately still not ready to compete at the highest level.

The Murcia native confirmed apart from missing the French Open, he will also miss the grass court season. The two-time Wimbledon champion, who hasn’t competed since the Barcelona Open (Conde de Godó), will remain sidelined for a while longer. He confirmed that he will not play at either Queen’s or Wimbledon, although he noted that his recovery from a right wrist injury “is progressing well.”

“My recovery is going well and I’m feeling much better, but unfortunately I’m not quite ready to play yet, so I’ve had to pull out of the grass-court season at Queen’s and Wimbledon. These are two really special tournaments for me and I’ll miss them terribly. We’re continuing to work hard to get back as soon as possible!”
The news marks a massive blow to the tournament, as Alcaraz is a two-time Wimbledon champion (2023, 2024) and was last year’s runner-up. He is expected to focus on fully rehabilitating his wrist to target a return for the North American hard-court swing later in the summer.
