The Formula One season arrives at the Circuit de Monaco for the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix.

With Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes coming into this race with a three-way split at the top of the leader boards, look for serious competition from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Six points behind Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, he will be starting the race from pole, with teammate Carlos Sainz sitting beside him. Verstappen and Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez are one row back in three and four and will look to make quick gains on the start/finish line.

With Monaco being a track that is notoriously difficult to overtake on, cars regularly come a-cropper, with the last five races seeing safety car interventions. This always changes the complexion of the race and gives the leading driver an advantage in excess of that which he already had.

With rain a possibility in Monaco today, there is every chance that there could be a lot of emphasis placed on late tire changes. The forecasts suggests all day unsettled weather, and this could bring the safety car out even earlier.
