Formula 1: Italian Grand Prix results at Monza, Verstappen wins

Max Verstappen of Red Bull came up from seventh place to win the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, Italy, once more edging out rival Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.

Max Verstappen took yet another victory at the Italian Grand Prix held this weekend at the Monza circuit. The Dutch driver recovered from seventh position and carried out impeccable tire management in the first part of the race that helped him win the race against Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

The Monegasque crossed the finish line just behind the Red Bull pilot and George Russell of Mercedes completed the podium.

Carlos Sainz made a spectacular comeback from 18th to fourth position and could have reached the top three, had it not been for a last-minute safety car that closed the race.

Fernando Alonso retired before the safety car and put an end to his streak of 10 consecutive races scoring points. Lewis Hamilton started from 19th position and ended at sixth place.

Max Verstappen poised to win second World Championship

Verstappen is now very close to winning a second Formula 1 World Championship title, with the very real possibility of sealing the deal at the next Grand Prix in Singapore.

The real battle is taking place in the race for second place. Leclerc, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, Russell, and Sainz are all in a position to become a far second to Verstappen.
