Update:
The 2023 Formula 1 season is fast approaching and teams will first have a few pre-season days at the Bahrain circuit. Here’s when you can catch Checo Peréz.

Formula 1 is already warming up its engines for the 2023 season where Red Bull will seek to defend its throne as world champion constructors. For the third year, Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez are the duo of the Austrian team that just announced how they will divide the test days so that their drivers can test the RB19.

Once the presentations of the single-seaters of each of the teams are over, Formula 1 gives way to the day of testing, which is also known as the pre-season of the series. This time the tests will take place in Bahrain, where the first Grand Prix of the season will be held, and Pérez already found out which days he will be able to drive his new car.

Less time for testing

Unlike last year, the teams will only have three days of testing. With this short period, Red Bull decided that each of their drivers will run one and a half days so that they can begin to have their first feel of the car with which they will seek to stay at the top of Formula 1.

The tests will take place from Feb. 23 to 25 in two shifts per day. Max Verstappen will be in charge of opening for Red Bull, as the Dutchman will run all Thursday, Feb. 23 and will close his participation in the afternoon shift on Friday, Feb. 24.

Checo Pérez will drive the RB19 on Friday, the morning of the 24th and the two sessions on Saturday, Feb. 25. Once the tests are over, the teams close ranks to face the start of the season.

When does the 2023 Formula 1 season start?

The first race of the year is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 5 with the Bahrain Grand Prix. The first day of practice will be on Friday the 3rd, while qualifying will take place on Saturday, Feb. 4.
