Alphonso Davies is Bayern Munich’s second most valuable player

The Canadian international is entering his third season with the Bundesliga giants and his market value keeps going up each year.

Alphonso Davies joined FC Bayern Munich in January 2019 from Vancouver Whitecaps and he remains in the top 5 most expensive outbound transfers in MLS history. The Bundesliga giants paid up to $22 million, including incentives, to sign the Canadian international and he has become an important player during his time at Allianz Arena.

Davies’ value has been going up

Alphonso Davies was a key player for Bayern Munich throughout the 2020 UEFA Champions League campaign and helped his team defeat Paris Saint-Germain in the final. That was the Bundesliga side’s sixth trophy and that season they ended up winning the treble. The Canadian international was fundamental that season and Bayern became the second European club to win the seasonal treble twice.

Davies is one of the best left-backs in the world and his current market value is $77 million according to Transfermarkt. The 22-year-old is Bayern Munich’s second most valuable player just behind Joshua Kimmich, who has a market value of $88 million.

Davies returns to the US

FC Bayern Munich will start their pre-season tour in the United States against D.C. United on Wednesday night at Audi Field. This is the first time that Alphonso Davies plays against Major League Soccer season teams during the pre-season because when Bayern came to the United States during the summer was in 2019 and they played against Arsenal, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
