For the third time in history, Club América will face Tigres in a championship series, as they are set to determine the kings of the current tournament next Sunday. The success of both teams is no coincidence, as their squads are among the most valuable in the entire national first division, boasting extensive player rosters.

América top the value table

According to information from the Transfermarkt website, América has the most expensive team in the league, valued at over $80,000,000. This valuation places them ahead of Monterrey’s Rayados and Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara. The highest-valued players in the blue and cream squad are Álvaro Fidalgo and Kevin Álvarez, both assessed at over seven million.

As for their final opponents, Tigres ranks as the fourth most expensive team in Liga MX, with a squad valuation of around $65,000,000. The Uruguayan Fernando Gorriarán holds the title of the most valuable player in the Tigres roster, with a value just shy of $10 million, followed closely by Samir Caetano, Jesús Angulo, and Sebastián Córdova, each valued at around seven million.

Money talks in Liga MX

It is worth mentioning that the four most expensive squads in Mexican football were present in the playoffs, with América, Tigres, Monterrey, and Chivas all qualifying.

The Liga MX is expected to announce the dates and times of the final in the coming hours, where the Los Águilas are seeking their 14th title and Los Felinos aim for their ninth, along with the potential bicampeonato.
