At what point does a blip become a wobble? Are Arsenal in full-blown crisis? Should they have decided to outspend Chelsea in January?

No. But their recent results certainly aren’t the healthiest. A Sea Dyche-inspired Everton blocked and crunched their way to a 1-0 win over The Gunners last week, causing Manchester City fans to search endlessly for the Dumb & Dumber So you’re telling me there’s a chance? GIF. Well, this week they can dig it out of their favourites list and go for it again, as Brentford held on for a point at the Emirates Stadium in a game that they definitely didn’t deserve to lose.

Arsenal huffed and puffed before Trossard broke the deadlock around the hour mark, scoring his first goal for the club. The Bees also had their moments in attack, and generated 2.37xG to Arsenal’s 1.68, with Ivan Toney hitting the crossbar in the first half.

Toney’s goal is the third consecutive header Arteta’s side have conceded, which gives the manager some work to do on the training ground before their next game. But not to worry, it is against...

An important run for Arsenal

Ah, they have got Manchester City on Wednesday in the rearranged fixture.

After that they play Aston Villa, Leicester, Everton and Bournemouth in a run in which one might imagine them collecting maximum points, should their form turn around. If not, City will be hot on their tails to turn the top of the table upside down.
