Update:

With the score from the first leg in Manchester giving Pep Guardiola’s side a slender 1-0 lead, it’s still all to play for in the second leg. And although we hope that a great game of football is what delivers the team into semi-final qualification, we know that the man in the middle can also sometimes take the headlines.

For this game at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano the referee is Daniel Siebert, a German with plenty of experience. This is the 30th time the 37-year old has had the whistle in hand this season so far and in the 29 to date he has dished out three red cards and 102 yellows.

Last October he was in charge of the game at the same stadium when he sent Antoine Griezmann off in Liverpool’s 3-2 victory in the group stage. Doing something similar again tonight will not make the locals happy.
