Thinking about a Champions League comeback feels almost impossible. Coming back from a four-goal deficit may be a bridge too far for Real Madrid. Nobody expects them to do it - least of all in this competition, against the eternal rivals and at Camp Nou... The stats don’t make encouraging reading either - Madrid lost all of the three previous meetings in European competition.
Barcelona demolished Madrid 2-6 in the first leg at Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano. The Catalans were 0-2 up within the first quarter of an hour through Ewa Pajor and Esmee Brugts. Madrid’s only response came from Linda Caicedo with goals either side of the interval. It hardly dented the Barca onslaught which continued right up until Alexia Putellas put the game, and the tie to bed from the spot in the 89th minute.
This evening’s game will be special for Alexia who will reach 500 appearances for the club - in front of a sell-out crowd. Barça will be paying tribute to her with a commemorative jersey and full stadium mosaic.
The winners of this tie will go on to face Bayern Munich in the semi-final. The German side is ranked fourth in UEFA’s coefficient list and have only made to the Champions League Last Four on two occasions - losing the first of them to none other than Barcelona in 2019.

The 2025/26 Women’s Champions League quarterfinal between Barcelona Femení and Real Madrid Femenino will be play at Camp Nou in Barcelona on Thursday April 2 and is scheduled to kick off at 12:45 p.m. ET / 9:45 p.m. PT.
The game will be aired live in the United States by ESPN Deportes and Paramount+. It will also be streamed live on Disney+.
