Barcelona visit Almería on Sunday with the chance to extend their lead at the top of LaLiga to 10 points, after title rivals Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Atlético Madrid on Saturday.

Xavi Hernández’s men head into the week-23 clash fresh from the disappointment of being knocked out of the Europa League by Manchester United, and a win in Andalusia would lift the Catalans’ spirits ahead of Thursday’s Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Madrid.

Gavi return among expected Barça changes

Barça’s head coach is expected to make four changes to the side that began this week’s defeat at Old Trafford: Marcos Alonso, Jordi Alba, Gavi and Ferran Torres are in line to replace Ronald Araújo, Alejandro Balde, Frenkie de Jong and Sergi Roberto in the starting XI.

Gavi is available for selection once more after the 18-year-old missed the trip to Manchester through suspension.

Barcelona’s potential line-up vs Almería:

Barça’s likely XI in Almería looks like this: Ter Stegen; Koundé, Araújo, Alonso, Alba; Kessié, Busquets, Gavi; Raphinha, Lewandowski and Ferran.

Substitutes: Arnau Tenas, Iñaki Peña, Sergi Roberto, Balde, Christensen, Eric García, De Jong, Pablo Torre and Alarcón.
