Bellingham and his mum bring Madrid’s Gran Vía to a halt
The Real Madrid star took his mum out to do some Christmas shopping in the capital’s main thoroughfare.
With only a few days left to buy those last-minute Christmas gifts, central Madrid has been swamped with hoards of shoppers, eagerly hoping to get everything done before the 24th. Among them, was Real Madrid’s new idol, Jude Bellingham - on target yet again at the weekend, and out and about with his mum on Monday to take in atmosphere during his first Christmas spent in the Spanish capital.
The England international has only been in Madrid for six months but he’s already put down roots. Humble and approachable, Jude practically brought the Gran Vía, Madrid’s main commercial thoroughfare, to a halt when he was spotted by fans on a shopping mission with his mother. For the most part, Real Madrid players have to go out undercover to avoid attention but Bellingham was happy to stroll around the centre in his usual attire, without the need for a disguise. Wearing a black sweatshirt and matching beanie, Jude was collared by fans on the corner of San Bernardo by the Emperador Hotel.
He happily posed for a few selfies and signed autographs while waiting for the lights to change. As the word got around, Jude and his mum found themselves surrounded - all captured from the other side of the road by @arielgabriel98 who posted the results on Tik Tok.
It’s not often that you see a top level footballer out and about in the centre of town - but then again, Jude’s not your average player. He has already racked up 17 goals in 20 games and we’re not even half way through the season.
