The possibility of returning to Peñarol has been practically ruled out following a decision by the board of directors.
With the aim of accumulating more playing time and consistency, Brian Rodríguez is considering the possibility of leaving América. This could potentially open up a new opportunity for the Uruguayan striker during the course of the Leagues Cup and the Apertura 2023. Coach André Jardine will certainly more alternatives in attack and that could have influenced the board’s decision.
The Uruguayan player came to América from LAFC for a fee of around $6 million in August 2022. He has made 28 appearances for the Águilas, been listed in the squad a total of 35 times and been in the starting line-up nine times; while registering four goals and three assists. Rodríguez is under contract until June 2026
