Christian Pulisic is in his fourth season at Chelsea. After Chelsea shelled out €64 million for the American forward, his performances have been hampered at times by his inconsistent form due to the numerous injuries he has picked up.

After not being used much by Thomas Tuchel, he seems to have taken a step forward under new manager Graham Potter. Since Potter arrived, Pulisic has played 204 minutes, in which time he has been able to score a goal and provide two assists. Former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher has his own view of the American’s situation at Stamford Bridge, citing the example of a former team-mate of his, Timo Werner, who left the London club in the summer to return to RB Leipzig, where he has already scored eight goals.

Carragher advises Pulisic to do as Werner did and go to a “smaller club” where he would shine. “A lot of footballers are different, I shake my head when I see certain players at clubs for a long time and they never really gel,” said the Sky Sports pundit.
