Christian Pulisic injury update: player could feature for USMNT in upcoming games
The AC Milan winger suffered an injury in the Champions League win over PSG, but the signs are positive in terms of his recovery.
Tuesday’s Champions League fixtures set alarm bells ringing for the United States ahead of the quarter finals of the Concacaf Nations League when the captain of the side, Christian Pulisic, left the match against PSG early due to injury.
‘Captain America’ underwent an MRI scan after the game to determine the severity of the physical issue that caused him to miss out on what was a statement win for the Italian side over their French opponents. And now, with the news of the results being filtered out, it looks as though USMNT fans can cross their fingers in hope that he will be OK to play.
What injury does Christian Pulisic have?
According to the information from Pietro Mazzara, a journalist close to AC Milan, the MRI scan did not bring any news of a serious issue with Christian Pulisic, and it appears that the injury is in fact muscle fatigue.
Pulisic will, according to the report, be examined on a daily basis and there even exists a small possibility that he could be back and ready to play for AC Milan at the weekend against Lecce in Serie A.
Who will be in the USMNT squad for the Nations League?
The USMNT captain will undoubtedly, if fit, be called up by Gregg Berhalter for the upcoming pair of games against Trinidad & Tobago in the Concacaf Nations League. For these games, the USMNT’s ticket to the 2024 Copa América is on the line, giving these games a high level of importance.
Everything points to Thursday 9 November being the date when the USMNT reveal their squad list for the games in the Nations League, where the rumours suggest that Berhalter will switch up the squad from pervious versions we have seen of the list, due to various injuries and dips in form of various players.
