Everything seems to indicate that Ronaldo Nazário is set to pack his bags and leave Real Valladolid.

The former Real Madrid, Barça and Inter striker player, who took control of the LaLiga club in 2018 has not appeared at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla since August to attend a league game despite being in the city for several meetings.

Soon after taking control of the club, rumours started to spread that he was anxious to sell but with the Brazilian now having fallen foul of the supporters, speculation that a sale is likely are incessant.

A year after the acquisition, Ronaldo stated that he intended to leave a legacy at the club and this consisted of establishing the club in the Spanish First Division and building the new training complex in the city.

As things stand, this legacy looks like a pipe dream with Valladolid rock bottom at the foot of table boasting the teams worst points tally in recent history and inevitably, despite appointing Diego Cocca as new head coach, the club will be involved in an intense relegation battle to survive.

Off the pitch, despite slight improvements at the stadium, the club have been in a long dispute with the local council over proposed restructure work. Personnel changes in the local institution have seen the renovation proposals with public and private money fail to get the green light and despite being a public building, the local city council has not allocated a single single euro towards stadium improval.

The honeymoon period for Ronaldo and Valladolid was brief with the former player quick to claim that his project has not been supported by local institutions, media or fans and he has even claimed that poor matchday revenue is a factor as supporters fail to purchase sufficient food and merchandise.

The fans for their part have lost faith in the Brazilian and are desperate for a change in ownership despite Ronaldo claiming that after securing promotion last summer he turned down three takeover bids.

Now, the sales process may be accelerated as the 48-year-old is considering the possibility of running for the presidency of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
