Cristiano Ronaldo lines up Nike for Al Nassr
The Arab team has announced that the American sports brand will be its sponsor for the 2023/24 season, taking over from Duneus.
The idyll between Cristiano Ronaldo and Nike continues at Al Nassr. The official account of the Arab team has announced that the North American brand will be its new sponsor for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Until now, the Riyadh club wore Dunues, one of the most established sports brands in the Arab world and which has seen its profile raised considerably since the star from Madeira landed in the Asian country.
The Ronaldo-Nike effect
Cristiano signed a shoe contract for life with Nike. The US sports brand actually began supplying boots to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner in 2003 when he was still a Sporting Lisbon player, providing him with 30 Mercurial Superfly boots until 2016. Fans of the Portuguese superstar didn’t take long to fall in line at the local sports stores.
The first shirts of Al Nassr with Nike will be seen in the pre-season matches of the Arab team. The Riyadh club has pampered its star and have lined up the start of their preparations in, you’ve guessed it, Portugal.
The first game of preseason will be on Monday 17 July in the Algarve against LaLiga’s Celta de Vigo, followed by a game against Primeira Liga champions Benfica three days later. A tour of Japan comes next where they will meet PSG on Tuesday 25 July and on the Thursday of that week they will face Inter, runners-up in the UEFA Champions League.
The season will officially start for Al Nassr against Al Shabab on 28 July, before Monastir on 31 July and Zamalek on 3 August.
