Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his 50th goal while donning the Al Nassr jersey, proving that, despite the teams results not being in his favour, at 39 years old, he remains a formidable force in front of the goal. The Portuguese forward solidifies his position as the leading scorer in the Saudi Professional League.

Ronaldo scoring in vain for Al Nassr

Earlier this week, Al Nassr was knocked out of the Asian Champions League by Al Ainm in a penalty shootout. A goal from Cristiano in the 118th minute sent the match to penalties, but despite his contribution, misses from Brozovic, Telles, and Otávio in the shootout sealed the team’s elimination in the quarter-finals.

In the Saudi league, their title chances are virtually non-existent, as Al Hilal leads the table with 65 points, nine more than Luis Castro’s side, who have played an additional match. With 10 games remaining and 30 points up for grabs, barring a catastrophe, Neymar’s team will clinch the title.

Cristiano Ronaldo reaches 50 goals with Al Nassr

A disallowed goal and another successfully converted from the penalty spot saw Ronaldo spearhead Al Nassr’s victory on the day, reaching the milestone of 50 goals in 58 appearances since his arrival in Saudi Arabia. He maintains his position as the season’s top scorer in Saudi football with 23 goals in 22 matches, distancing himself by three goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic, his closest pursuer.

Not only does he lead the scoring charts in Arabia, but he also features among the top assist providers of the season with nine, just one fewer than Álvaro Medrán of Al-Ettifaq. The all-time leading scorer in football history continues to showcase his relentless desire to increase his goal tally, despite being 39 years old. He now stands 121 goals away from reaching the milestone of 1,000 goals. Could he really keep going that long?
