It’s been a momentous week for former Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Not only has he become the first person to reach 600 million followers on Instagram and seen first club Sporting dedicate a kit to him, he has also got his hands on a trophy for the first time since moving to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The Riyadh-based side have won the Arab Club Champions Cup for the first time in their history thanks to a 2-1 extra-time victory over fellow Saudi side Al Hilal, with Ronaldo inevitably scoring both goals.

CR7 seals against-the-odds win for Al Nassr against Al Hilal

The win was made all the more impressive given Al Nassr were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when they were a goal down, with defender Adbulelah Al Amri shown a red card by a VAR for a foul on former Barcelona winger Malcom.

The momentum was all with Al Hilal at that stage but they were brought back down to earth within minutes as Ronaldo converted a right-wing cross to level the scores and breathe new life into his team.

Neither side was able to find a winner in normal time, but the Portuguese attacker duly obliged midway through the first half of the extra period, heading into the net after a shot at goal had come back off the crossbar. The former Manchester United front man later went off injured but was fully involved in the post-match celebrations.

How many trophies has Cristiano Ronaldo won in his career?

Ronaldo has now lifted a total of 31 trophies in his club career, including three Premier League titles, two LaLiga titles and five Champions Leagues. He has also won two trophies with Portugal: Euro 2016 and the 2018-19 UEFA Nations League.
