How does the CONCACAF ranking work?

The CONCACAF Club Ranking evaluates the performance of clubs and leagues across the confederation. Teams earn points based on results in domestic leagues, regional competitions, and Champions Cup matches, offering a comprehensive measure of overall performance.

The CONCACAF top 10:

Cruz Azul leapfrogs Toluca at the top

As the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals approach, Cruz Azul climbed to 1,271 points, edging Deportivo Toluca, which now sits at 1,265. The surge allowed La Máquina to retake the No. 1 spot at a pivotal moment in the competition.

Seattle Sounders FC delivered one of the most eye‑catching moves in the rankings, jumping six positions to claim third place with 1,254 points. Their rise underscores the strong form MLS clubs have shown across the region.

América and LAFC move up

Los Angeles FC and Club América also made ground in the standings, settling into fourth and fifth place, respectively. Tigres slipped to sixth, while Inter Miami dropped to seventh.

The top 10 saw further reshuffling with Nashville SC and Chivas Guadalajara climbing into eighth and ninth place. Meanwhile, Columbus Crew fell back to tenth.

Quarterfinals set for Liga MX vs MLS clashes

Looking ahead to the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals, seven of the eight highest‑ranked clubs will be in action. Notably, every last-eight series will pit Liga MX sides against MLS opponents, setting the stage for another chapter in one of the region’s most compelling rivalries.
