Denis Bouanga signed with the Los Angeles Football Club late in the summer transfer window and made his debut on 31 August in the 2-1 defeat against the Houston Dynamo. The Gabon international came on as a substitute with 18 minutes left in the game and played against Real Salt Lake on Sunday night.

Bouanga was formally introduced with LAFC, the club he signed a contract for the next three seasons, and compared the team with Paris Saint-Germain. “We compared it to PSG because they have amazing players that score a lot of goals. This is a great team that I have been following for a while now.”

LAFC the first team to secure spot in playoffs

The 27-year-old left Ligue 1 side Saint-Étienne after a successful stint and will have to fight for a spot in the starting team with LAFC. The Black & Gold became the first team in Major League Soccer to secure a spot in the playoffs and are in pole position to win the 2022 Supporters’ Shield this campaign.

The Los Angeles Football Club have lost the last three games they have played away from the Banc of California but they remain in first place in the Western Conference with 18 wins, three defeats and seven defeats. They returned to action on Sunday night, beating Real Salt Lake 2-0, with Bouanga earning his first start.
