Edson Álvarez is set for a high profile move to the Premier League after Ajax and West Ham reached an agreement for the transfer of the Mexican international.
According to information from transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Ajax and West Ham have already reached an agreement for the acquisition of Álvarez, who will join the ‘Hammers’ to cover the departure of Declan Rice who moved recently to Arsenal. The deal is expected to conclude for approximately 43 million US dollars with the midfielder poised to travel to the English capital and undergo protocol medical examinations.
Assuming all pans out as anticipated, the Mexican international will sign his deal with West Ham and would immediately start work under coach David Moyes ahead of the start of the Premier League which kicks off this Friday, 11 August 11.
West Ham open their campaign with an away trip to Bournemouth and Álvarez would accompany Raúl Jiménez as the only Mexicans to play in the English top flight ahead of the 2023-2024 season.
