EURO 2024
England confirmed starting XI against Spain in the Euro 2024 final
Here’s how the Three Lions will line up against Spain in the final of Euro 2024.
Somehow, they’re here. England have made it all the way to the Euro 2024 final. On their knees, clawing at the mud in front of them with broken fingernails, they’ve dug deep and found treasure while everyone else’s fancy excavation systems have broken along the way.
It’s not been pretty but tournament football rarely is. Spain are the exception and go into the game as favourites, based on the tiki-taka 2.0 we’ve been blessed with. Possession-based positional play snapping into a playground party panna match has seen them knock out world champion after world champion. Confidence is high in the Roja camp, but England have been England-ing it pretty much perfectly all the way to Berlin.
Who will play for England against Spain?
England manager Gareth Southgate has sticked with his 3-4-2-1 formation, with a box midfield of Rice, Mainoo, Bellingham and Foden in the middle. Behind them, Jordan Pickford will start in goal with Stones, Guéhi and Walker in a three at the back.
On the wings, Saka will retain his place and he will have Luke Shaw on the opposite flank.
Ahead of the box midfield, Harry Kane will start up top as he looks to wrap up the Golden Boot race, as well as a winner’s medal.
The Euro 2024 final between Spain and England will be played at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday July 14, 2024. Kick-off in the German capital is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET / 12 noon PT.
