After topping Group L ahead of Croatia and Ghana, England have lined up a round of 32 fixture against a third-placed team, either Senegal, DR Congo or Portugal.

Who could England play in the round of 16?
If England progress they will play the winner of Mexico and Ecuador. Mexico swept through the group stage with three wins from three games and will be confident of advancing, setting up a thrilling spectacle in Mexico City.

Who could England play in the quarter-final?
Brazil and Norway look set to progress from their respective round of 32 games and the winner of that game will likely meet England in the round of 16.

Who could England play in the semi-final?
If England make it through, they will probably come up against another of the powerhouses from their side of the draw. In the semi-final England could face reigning champions Argentina or Portugal, if they top their group.

Who could England play in the World Cup final?
If England can make it to the World Cup final for the first time since 1966, they will take on whichever team emerges from the other side of the bracket. Spain and France will be the favorites to advance, but Morocco and Germany will also be hoping to make a run to the final.
