What are Erik ten Hag’s five rules at Manchester United?
The Manchester United manager has laid out five rules that his players will have to live by at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag has arrived in Manchester with a mission to rebuild a club that is still suffering from the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson almost a decade ago.
As the Scottish coach did at the time, the Dutchman will try to turn the situation around with a firm hand. Ten Hag faces the task of making Manchester United competitive again after equalling their worst points record in Premier League history last season.
New rules at United
Before embarking on the club’s pre-season tour, Ten Hag laid out five rules his players must follow. The first is punctuality. Whoever arrives late to a training session will not be included in the squad for the next game.
United players will be prohibited from drinking alcohol during competitive periods of the season.
Players can’t have their own chefs at home, instead they will receive their nutrition from the club’s chefs, who will be in charge of preparing the food.
Rule number four will be monthly tests to check up on the body mass index of players. Lastly, anyone who has a complaint should talk to the manager and their agents.
