Euro 2024: twenty teams now through to Germany

After Monday night’s Euro 2024 qualifying action, Italy, Slovenia and Czech Republic mathematically sealed their places at the tournament.

Three more nations booked a place at next summer’s 2024 European Championships in Germany with a 0-0 draw against Ukraine enough to see holders Italy advance. The Czech Republic also progressed in group E with a 3-0 home win over Moldova whilst Slovenia edged out Kazakhstan in a winner takes all clash in Ljubljana.

These three sides join the other 17 nations who had progressed as the qualification stage winds down with one more automatic place on the line with Croatia in pole position to edge Wales out in Group D and bag the 21st berth at Euro 2024.

The final three places will be contested following play-offs which will be played in March 2024. Twelve nations will participate the play-offs and three paths will reveal the final three participants that progress from the three finals that will be staged between 21 and 26 March 2024. Placings in the recent UEFA Nations League standings will be key in determining the composition of these playoff paths.

Euro 2024: venues

The tournament kicks-off on 14 June with matches set to be staged at 12 German cities with the final set for 14 July at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium where we discover which side succeeds Italy as European champions.

Euro 2024 draw date

The draw for the tournament is to be staged at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany and will take place on 2 December at 6pm local time or 12pm ET / 9am PT, as the 24 participating nations discover their match-ups for the Germany based tournament.
