In spite of being one of the most renowned players in Mexican soccer, Marco Fabián finds himself without a club in the Liga MX and with just a few days to go before registration closes in other, foreign leagues. The 34-year-old ex-Chivas midfielder could return to Europe as a free agent - UE Santa Coloma in the Andorran Primera Divisió looks like being his next destination.

It is speculated that Fabián, a gold medalist at the 2012 London Olympics, has his future arranged and could make an official announcement in the next few days. He already has experience in Europe, having spent three years with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankurt, where he impressed under the command of Niko Kovac.

From the Bundesliga to MLS

After his time in Germany ended, he spent a season in MLS with the Philadelphia Union. His last club was Mazatlán with whom he played in two campaigns - the Apertura 2022 and Clausura 2023, making a total of 17 appearances - eight of them in the starting XI.

Constant injuries and fitness issues impeded him from gaining a regular run in the side. During the summer, rumors spread that he could have an agreement to join Guadalajara, however it turned out that there was no interest from the Rojiblanco club.

So far in his career, Marco Fabián has defended the shirts of Chivas, Cruz Azul, Eintracht Frankfurt, Philadelphia Union, Juárez, Al-Sadd and Mazatlán.
