Gerardo Tata Martino has been in the hot seat for almost two years now, but poor results with the Mexico national team have fans questioning his position.

Since the Argentine coach took over the job in 2019, El Tri has struggled to get their attack firing with the strikers only scoring 53% of the goals during his tenure.

Mexican fans want Martino out

El Tri defeated Surinam 3-0 on Saturday night at the start of the CONCACAF Nations League and the fans at the TSM Corona stadium were demanding for Gerardo Martino to quit. The World Cup is five months away and the Mexico national team has not been performing as expected.

In the 38th minute of the game, the fans were shouting “Tata out” just before the referee pointed to the spot in favour of Mexico. Henry Martín was in charge of scoring and gave El Tri a 2-0 lead just before the break.

Once the first half ended the fans kept shouting “Tata out” as the team returned to the dressing room and this is not the first time that they demand the Mexican soccer federation to part ways with Martino. Fans are not happy and a string of bad results during the next international break could force the Mexican soccer federation to part ways with Martino.
