FIFA release “Written in the Stars”, the official film of the 2022 World Cup
The long form can be streamed via the FIFA+ platform as it showcases the first World Cup staged in the Arab world.
FIFA have launched the official film of the 2022 Qatar World Cup with the long form offering previously unseen footage and images from the recent World Cup played in the Gulf where Argentina defeated France on penalties in a final full of drama and emotion.
According to the overview: “It is the story of joy and despair, of the big names that crash and the modest ones that prevail. It is the story of a historic achievement for the Arab world and ultimately a story that was written in the stars, as Lionel Messi, one of the greatest players in the history of football, led Argentina to glory in one of the most unforgettable football matches ever played.” FIFA state in the press release.
Where to watch ‘Written in the Stars’?
The film clocks in at just over 90 minutes and is available to stream (for free) via FIFA+ and is narrated by Welsh actor and football fan Michael Sheen.
“The documentary offers viewers never-before-seen footage and all the action from the matches, including new camera angles, as well as showcasing the huge global appeal of the tournament from the point of view of fans around the world,” FIFA claim.
