Future Real Madrid player Endrick called up to the Brazil national team

The forward has been called up to the senior Brazilian national team for the first time in his career and will join Rodrygo and Vinicius in the squad.

Palmeiras forward Endrick, who is set to move to Real Madrid in 2024, has been given his first call up to the Brazil national team squad for their upcoming games against Argentina and Colombia.

The 17-year-old, who recently reached 50 games with the Brazilian club, has received his first senior call up by manager Fernando Diniz, who also coaches recent Copa Libertadores winners Fluminense.

He has the potential to be one of top players. His call-up is an award, also glimpse into the future as a boy born in 2006 producing what he does catches my attention”, said the Brazil manager.

Strong performances from Endrick see Diniz take a chance

Endrick has gone through various ups and downs over the past year, but his most recent performance for Palmeiras, who sit second in the Brasileirão, was one to remember, as he scored a 6th minute winner against Athletico Paranaense. This goal followed on from the game against Botafogo, where Endrick scored 2 goals from 2 shots in a game that ended in a 3-4 win.

He has scored 8 goals in 25 played so far this season, outperforming his xG by more than 2. Real Madrid have been in constant contact with the player via various club delegates, all in an effort to make his eventual transition to Spain easier for the player. It is something that happened with Jude Bellingham, Arda Güler, as well as Brazilians Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. Endrick himself has been preparing for life in Europe with English classes with Sara Duque, showing that the player, despite being still a child, has a mature head on his shoulders.

Now, he is set to link up with future teammates Rodrygo and Vini Jr who have also been called up to the squad, as well as future rival, Raphinha, of Barcelona.
