Galtier has nothing to say about Messi apology video
Lionel Messi issued an apology video for making an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia that led to a 2-week suspension, but Christophe Galtier had no comment.
Lionel Messi came under fire after he took an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, leading to a two-week suspension from his club, PSG. Not only did he get into trouble with the club, but the move also left a sour taste in the PSG fans’ mouths, with several saying they want Messi gone after this season.
Messi’s apology in vain?
Messi eventually posted an apology video to social media, explaining that he’d had the trip planned thinking that PSG would win their game against Lorient and be free from practicing the following days. As that was not the case, he explained that he went anyway as he was unable to cancel the trip a second time.
Messi’s suspension remained in place and he was left out of the game against Troyes yesterday, which PSG won 3-1. Though PSG boss Christophe Galtier did mention that he had no say in the matter of Messi’s suspension, he also would not comment on his apology.
“Messi’s excuse? It’s an internal club matter,” said Galtier. “I have no comment on Leo and his apology.”
He then immediately changed the subject to talk about the win over Troyes.
