The 2023 Leagues Cup group stage has come to an end, and has left some outstanding performance data. One of the players who stood out during the first phase of the tournament is Monterrey striker, Germán Berterame. The 24-year-old has become a fundamental piece for Rayados and his contributions will be vital for the aspirations of Tano Ortiz’s team as the competition progresses.

Berterame has established himself as the top scorer in the Leagues Cup group phase, leading the table with a total of five goals. His outstanding figures began in the team’s debut against Real Salt Lake, where he managed to score a hat trick. His scoring streak continues in the team’s last match against Seattle, where he hit a brace and generated a great impact on Monterrey’s performance.

In addition to that, he also heads the Top 10 list of players with the most shots on goal in the tournament with 11 shots, being the only Liga MX player in at particular ranking. And he is in first place among the players with the most shots on target with nine.

Colombian Cristian Arango, from Real Salt Lake, is in second place in the shots on goal ranking, with 10 shots, followed by Julián Carranza, from Philadelphia, and Gustavo Bou, from New England with nine. Fourth position is occupied by Ricardo Puig, with eight shots, level with Aitor García Flores from Austin, and Juan Hernández, from Columbus.
