Germany's 4-2-3-1
Nagelsmann is going with Neuer in goal, Kimmich, Tah, Schlotterbeck and Brown in the back. In the middle it's Pavlovic and Nmecha with Sane, Musiala, Wirtz tucked behind Havertz.
The Curacao national anthem plays for the first time in a World Cup, and for a lot of people it watching in the stadium and at home this will be the first time they hear this anthem.
The teams are coming on to the pitch and this is a historic moment for the Blue Wave of Curacao. Their first World Cup is just minutes from beginning.
Old meets new
It's a stark contrast on the touchlines of both sides today. We have the youngest manager in the tournamnet taking on the oldest manager in the tournament. Nagelsmann wasn't even born when Advocaat started his managerial career.
Germany's World Cup history
Germany is one of the most storied teams in this tournament. They have won four World Cups with their first one coming in 1954 as West Germany. They would win it again in 1974 as hosts of the tournament. Since then they have been to five finals in the 12 tournaments that have been played. The won two of those finals in 1999 and in 2014, but since winning their last one they have failed to get out of group stages in the last two World Cups. Julian Nagelsmann is trying to bring the luster back to this soccer juggernaut.
World Cup debutants
Curacao are the new kids on the block this tournament, but they aren't the only ones. There are four debutants in this tournament. Jordan, Cape Verde, Curacao and Uzbekistan are all set to make their debuts, and the question is which one of these four teams will make the biggest splash in their first World Cup?
The 40 year old club
Manuel Neuer is set to play his fifth World Cup after coming out of international retirement. He is 40 years old and looking to win his second World Cup. The German keeper is one of eight members of the 40 year old club in this tournament. That is the most that have even played in any World Cup with the oldest of the most veteran players being Craig Gordon who is 43. Cristiano Ronaldo is 41 and the other six are 40.
Group E recap
This is a tricky group, and you have to feel a bit bad for Curacao (87th in FIFA) who drew what could be looked at as the Group of Death. Germany (10th in FIFA) is a well known powerhouse that fancies their chances in any World Cup they enter. Ecuador (24th in FIFA) might be the dark horses of this tournament, and Cote d'Ivore just beat France in a tune up before the World Cup. Here is what the schedule looks like in this Group E.

Star watch: Curacao
Manager Dick Advocaat is probably the most recognizable name on this Curacao roster. He has coached everywhere, and the club and the international level. When it comes to his players the only one who plays on a well known European club is Armando Obispo. He grew up in the PSV academy and has played on the first team for the last six years.
Star watch: Germany
There is no shortage of star power on this squad. They have Kai Havertz and Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich, but I want to see what Florian Wirtz does in this tournament. It was a frustrating first season at Liverpool for him, and I think he is going to use this tournament to find his best form yet again. The 23 year old, who has been playing top flight soccer for the last six years, was brilliant at Bayer Leverkusen accounting for 20+ goals for two straight seasons in the Bundesliga. This year he had 5 goals and 3 assists with the Reds, but he will be looking to play a much more involved role with his national team.
Curacao squad
The Blue wave have a heavy influence of Dutch born players with Curaçaoan roots. This group of unknowns will look to come into this debut campaign in the sports biggest event looking to shock the world. This is the squad that Dick Advocaat has brought to the World Cup.

Germany's squad
While this squad maybe isn’t on the tip of everyones tongue coming into this match, there is plenty of talent to give Germany fans reasons to believe. Julian Nagelsmann has a deep squad of internationally known names that play at the biggest clubs around the world. There is a mix of youth and experience on this side that won’t mind flying a bit under the radar.
Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Oliver Baumann (Hoffenheim), Alexander Nübel (Stuttgart)
Defenders: Waldemar Anton (Borussia Dortmund), Nathaniel Brown (Eintracht Frankfurt), Pascal Groß (Brighton & Hove Albion), Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich), David Raum (RB Leipzig), Antonio Rüdiger (Real Madrid), Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Jonathan Tah (Bayern Munich), Malick Thiaw (Newcastle)

Curacao starting XI
For the first time ever Curacao put out a staring XI in a World Cup. This is the XI that Dick Advocaat is going with here from Houston.
Germany XI
Nagelsmann is not holding back in his World Cup kick off. He has brought out the big guns and Germany is going to look to overwhelm Curacao with guys like Musiala, Wirtz, Sane and Havertz.
Curacao last game
Curacao got prepared for their first World Cup with a game against follow tournament participant Scotland and then Aruba. Scotland got the best of them with a 4-1 win, but Curacao would then beat Aruba by a score of 4-0. All of their goals came after the halftime break, and Joshua Brenet getting the first goal in the 53rd minute. Jeremy Antonisse doubled the lead in the 68th and a couple of late goals from Livano Comenencia and Juninho Bacuna capped the final tune up and got them sharpened for their World Cup opener against the European giants.
Last game: Germany
The German national team extended their winning streak to nine games in their final tune up before the World Cup. They took on the USMNT and Julian Nagelsmann's men did win, but I’m not sure if they or the US team was more content with the performance. Kai Havertz scored the opening goal just two minutes into the game off a free kick from Joshua Kimmich. Antonee Robinson leveled the score with a fantastic volley from outside the area and both teams were tied 1-1 at the half. Leroy Sane scored the goal that made the difference in the 57th minute to keep the perfect streak alive.
