Germany vs Curacao live online: updates, score, goals and highlights | 2026 World Cup Group E
Day four of the World Cup starts with one of the tournament’s winningest sides. Germany take on debutants Curacao in Group E action from Houston Stadium.
GOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!
First attack of the second half, and it's Germany scoring the fourth!!! Musiala tucks it home from an acute angle on the right side after Kimmich sent a ball into the box. The Bayern man took the shot on his first touch and slid it past Room.
GER lead 4-1.
WE ARE BACK IN HOUSTON FOR THE SECOND HALF OF ACTION.
Advocaat going with Antonisse for Hansen out of the break.
Wirtz looked like the most involved although it was Nmecha who had the goal to open the scoring and a few other chances before drawing the penalty right before half.
Right before the half, Curacao was dealt a devastating blow. The ref pointed to the spot after Nmecha went down in the box and Havertz was there to put a third on the board right before halftime.

It's telling me on the stat sheet that there were six corner kicks for Germany in the first half. I'm not buying it. I thought I counted at least 10, and on one of those it was Schlotterbeck tucking it home off the cross from Brown.

After going down a goal, Curacao made history scoring their first ever World Cup goal 20 minutes into their debut. Livano Comenencia with a brilliant finish that will go down in the laurels of history in Curacao.

It took just six minutes for Germany to get on the board. It lovely link up between Wirtz and Nmecha ended in a golazo of the highest calibur. It looked like it was going to get ugly early, but Curacao had a surprise in store.

WE ARE AT THE HALFTIME BREAK AND THAT IS A DEMORALIZING WAY TO HEAD TO THE BREAK IF YOU ARE A CURACAO FAN.
GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!
Havertz steps to the spot and slides it past Room on the left side!!!! Havertz can't stop scoring. A goal in the UCL final. A goal against the US, and a goal in the World Cup opener.
GER lead 3-1 on the brink of halftime.
PENALTY!!!!!
Nmecha ran on to a ball into the area from Sane, and was tripped up by a Curacao defender. The ref pointed right to the spot and Germany have a chance to add to the lead right before the half.
Hansen scaling the left side of the area and he tried a shot that had the sting taken out of it and rolled into the hands of Neuer.
FOUR MINUTES OF STOPPAGE TIME.
Room punches the corner kick from Brown away. It wasn't cleared out of dangers and not one, or two but three different chances to add to the lead but a wall of Curacao defenders were shielding their goal to ensure they keep the scoreline where it is.
Schlotterbeck with the header and that is defelected on the back post for another corner kick.
Another corner kick coming from Germany. Curacao just hanging on for life before the halftime break.
Now the challenge is the same for Curacao. They were figuring they were going to be playing from behind, but they have to keep this a one goal game for a while to have a chance of getting a point against the four time World Cup winners.
Three goals in the first half of this opening match from Houston and this has been quite the first half. Open, free flowing and entertaining play not just from Germany, but from Curacao as well.
GOOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!!!!
Brown with a perfect ball right into the middle of the area, and it's Schlotterbeck hunting in the area, and nodding it right past Room.
That had to be their 10th corner of the first half, and at a certain point you can't keep giving up corners to Germany because the will punish you.
Havertz tries to square a ball inside the area but that was tipped and sent away for a corner.
Juninho sliding into the middle of the pitch looking to fire off a shot. He did get the shot off, but with a defender all over him, that was always going to be a tough ask.
Kimmich pushes the ref out of the way before receiving a pass, and puts a ball to the back post for Sane, but that went bouncing out for a goal kick.
One touch play, flicks and tricks. Curacao is not coming into this game scared. They are going to play their game. Their style. If they lose, they lose, but no one will say they changed their ways just because they are on the biggest stage in the world.
Corner from the far side and that was sent to the back post but Fonville was there to clear the danger.
Pavlovic had room at the top of the area and fired a shot that was blocked away by Bazoer. Corner to come again.
Brown puts another ball into the back post and Schlotterbeck's header across goal was waiting for someone to get on the end of it, but no one in a Germany shirt was in the area.
Brown puts it into the mix from the corner but Room was there to punch it away with both hands. Another corner kick to come after Musiala had it poked away on the end line.
Ball to the back post for Schlotterbeck and he heads it towards goal, but it was Room with a strong hand to push it over the crossbar. Corner kick to come.
Free kick in the near corner for Germany after Musiala is tripped up by Bacuna.
Just over 20 minutes into their first World Cup game, Curacao get their first goal in the tournament. It was dropped back by Locadia for Comenencia who made who looked like a World Cup veteran with this finish.

WE ARE AT THE HYDRATION BREAK HERE FROM HOUSTON!!!
Hansen was charging into the box, had it poked away, Locadia tried a shot that was blocked away. It fell to Comenencia who laced it with the left foot past Neuer and Curacao are level with the four time World Cup champions.
GOOOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!!
HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE!!!! CURACAO SCORE AGAINST GERMANY!!!! CURACAO ARE TIED WITH GERMANY!!!! CURACAO CAME TO WIN, NOT JUST TO ENJOY THE RIDE!!!
Curacao with their first real attack, and it started with Locadia. A ball sent into the area was flicked on by Chong, and cleared only as far as Bacuna who tried a shot at goal but sent it well wide.
Curacao have a guy in the middle of the field named Chong. He's got the long shaggy, blonde afro and it's giving vibes of Carlos Valderrama who played in the World Cup in USA 32 years ago.
A little nutmeg in the back from Bacuna and that was one to highlight and watch over and over again tomorrow in the film session.
Wirtz trying it all on his own from the left side of the area. His shot from just outside the D spays just wide of target.
It's not an ideal start for Curacao, but as long as they can keep the Germany lead at 1-0 they will feel like they have a chance to steal a goal and potentially a point. Once that second goes in, trouble.
Pavlovic dinks it over the top for Nmecha who brougt it down right outside the six yard box and poked it at goal but the keeper Room was there to make the save.
Musiala found Sane running into the area and he took a touch before rolling one just wide of target from the right side.
Have a look at the link up play at the top of the area. Wirtz was our player to watch out for in the preview and he looks in the mood but it's Nmecha who gets the opener.

Nmecha in the mood today. He winds up from well beyond the top of the area, and that shot fron the right side just skimmed the outside of the top corner.
For Curacao it was a matter of delaying the inevitable, but it took just six minutes for the Germans to break down their defense and put the first on the board.
GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!
A 1-2 at the top of the box between Nmecha and Wirtz ends in a stunner of a goal by Nmecha who hit it on the one time from the left side and buried it into the side netting of the far post.
Early goal for Germany and they might start to impose their strength.
Great ball played in behind the defense for Musiala and he scaled across the top of the area before his shot was blocked by Obispo.
Locadia got a chance to stretch his feet along the far touchline and he carried it into the attacking third. It was shut down quickly, but those are the little things that Curacao need to see early to believe that they can pull off a miracle.
Brown into the area for the first time and he tried to slide it square for Havertz but the Curacao defense hangs strong in the first Germany attack.
For a team like Curacao, they have to take small wins in the little things. Build confidence when they take possession from Germany. Knock a few passes around and prove that you can keep the ball from this European giant.
Don't expect Curacao to have too much of the ball throughout the match. They will get a few chances at goal, if that. Let's see if they can make the most of those chances.
WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM HOUSTON!!!!
Curacao's first World Cup match and they play the four time champions of the competition.
Germany's 4-2-3-1
Nagelsmann is going with Neuer in goal, Kimmich, Tah, Schlotterbeck and Brown in the back. In the middle it's Pavlovic and Nmecha with Sane, Musiala, Wirtz tucked behind Havertz.
The Curacao national anthem plays for the first time in a World Cup, and for a lot of people it watching in the stadium and at home this will be the first time they hear this anthem.
The teams are coming on to the pitch and this is a historic moment for the Blue Wave of Curacao. Their first World Cup is just minutes from beginning.
