A video has been circulating on social media networks where it appears that Jude Bellingham aims an insult at Mason Greenwood during the Getafe-Real Madrid match has prompted the side from the Madrid suburbs to request that the LaLiga match director to add the incident to his report.

According to Cadena SER, Getafe have requested that a professional lip-reader be enlisted to verify the images where many interpret that the word ‘rapist’ is used by the Madrid player during the second half of Thursday’s LaLiga game.

According to SER, Getafe are analyzing the video, although the club does not plan to file a complaint an official complain as a club. But the club do want Bellingham’s alleged insult to Greenwood to be analysed for LaLiga to also study the images and make a final decision if it considers it pertinent.

Greenwood was accused of attempted rape with the prosecutors dropping the case against the then Manchester United player in February of last year with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) claiming at the time that there was “no longer a realistic prospect of conviction” after key witnesses withdrew their cooperation from the investigation.

Greenwood signed for La Liga side Getafe CF on a season-long loan last September and has been a consistent player for the ‘Azulones’ making 18 appearances in the league along with three in the Copa del Rey.
