Update:

Hansi Flick is one victory away from breaking Pep Guardiola’s longest home winning streak as Barcelona head coach following Sunday’s 1-0 triumph over Rayo Vallecano.

The win keeps Barça four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of LaLiga and, as highlighted by Sport, marks the Catalans’ 15th consecutive home victory since the league season began.

A streak across three stadiums

Interestingly, the run spans three separate stadiums. It began with two wins at Estadi Johan Cruyff, continued with three at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, and includes 10 since returning to Spotify Camp Nou in November last year.

Chasing a legendary team

Guardiola’s 2010-11 Barcelona, featuring Lionel Messi, Xavi, and Andrés Iniesta, won 15 straight home games when La Blaugrana claimed its third successive LaLiga title, finishing four points ahead of Madrid. Many consider that side one of the greatest club teams of all time.

Flick’s chance to make history

Flick’s team can go one better after the upcoming international break. LaLiga leaders return to action at Spotify Camp Nou on April 11 against local rivals Espanyol. That match comes three days after the home leg of Barcelona’s Champions League quarterfinal tie with Atlético Madrid.

Even if Barça reaches 16 straight home wins, they would still fall far short of the club’s all-time record of 39 consecutive home league victories, set across four seasons from 1957-58 to 1960-61.
