Inter Miami have now established themselves as the third most valuable team in Major League Soccer, according to a new ranking by Sportico.

How much are Inter Miami worth?

Estimated to be worth $1.02 billion, the Herons are behind only Los Angeles FC ($1.15 billion) and Atlanta United ($1.05. billion) in the MLS’ rich list.

In addition to galvanising the team on the field, World Cup winner Lionel Messi’s arrival in Florida has helped the franchise to enjoy rapid financial growth: Miami’s value has doubled in the space of a year.

According to Sportico, the club was estimated to be worth $585 million in early 2023, before the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner moved to Chase Stadium in a July free transfer.

Which clubs are the world’s most valuable?

MLS’s most valuable club, LAFC, also top the CONCACAF standings. The Black and Gold sit 15th worldwide, in a table that is led by Premier League giants Manchester United.

The Red Devils are valued at $6.2 billion, ahead of LaLiga heavyweights Real Madrid ($6.06 billion) and Barcelona ($5.28 billion).

MLS expected to continue growing

According to Sportico’s analysis, MLS’s financial muscle is expected to keep on growing in the coming years, with the presence of stars like Messi set to attract commercial partnerships with more major brands, in the wake of recent deals with big names such as Apple and VISA.

What’s more, the United States is poised to be at the centre of the international soccer scene starting this summer, when the country hosts the Copa América.

The US will then stage the 2025 Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup - a perfect breeding ground for MLS to increase its income and allow its teams to grow, Sportico notes.
