Inter announce the signing of Canada international Tajon Buchanan

The right-winger joins Inter from Belgian side Club Brugge.

Inter have announced the signing of Canada international Tajon Buchanan. The right-winger joins from Belgian side Club Brugge, with the Serie A club landing the 24-year-old for a reported $7.6 million transfer fee plus add-ons.

In 2019, Buchanan was selected in the MLS SuperDraft by the New England Revolution. The move to Milan comes two years after New England sold him to Club Brugge for a reported $7 million with a 10% sell-on fee, meaning the Revs will receive a part of the sale.

A 2021 MLS Best XI player, Buchanan finished his spell with the American club with 12 goals and 11 assists in 67 games across all competitions. At Club Brugge, he netted five goals and registered 12 assists in another 67 games across all competitions.

Canada international

The pacey wideman is also a starter in the Canadian national team, where he has four goals and seven assists in 35 international appearances. His performances in the 2021 Gold Cup stood out as he helped Canada reach the semi-finals, when he scored his first goal for his country.
