Is Luis Suárez joining Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini at LAFC?

According to reports, Luis Suárez could be close to reaching an agreement with LAFC, who have already signed Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini this summer.

Luis Suárez is closing in a deal to join a new club after his contract at Atlético Madrid expired, with the former Barcelona and Liverpool striker linked with a return to Nacional in his native Uruguay, the club where he started his senior career, and other sides including River Plate, Ajax and several clubs in England and Italy. However, reports are now emerging that Suárez could be about to follow in Gareth Bale’s footsteps and join LAFC on a short-term deal with the World Cup in mind.

LAFC keen on Bale-Suárez attack

Bale moved to Los Angeles as a free agent after his contract at Real Madrid expired and Suárez could follow suit in order to remain in peak condition before leading Uruguay into the World Cup in November. According to journalist Taylor Twellman, LAFC are prepared to make an offer so that the former Barcelona player can link up with Bale in a luxurious attack at the Banc of California Stadium, which also brought legendary Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini in over the summer.

Should Suárez sign for LAFC it will signal an end to the possibility of an emotional return to Nacional, where he started out 16 years ago, but it would fit with both LAFC’s recent desire to sign experienced Europe-based players while also providing Suárez with the environment he is seeking in a World Cup year, in much the same way as Bale’s deal came about.
